Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze home health patient records for accuracy and completeness
  • Assign precise ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all Medicare and payer-specific guidelines
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify and improve documentation quality
  • Identify and resolve coding discrepancies to support clean claims submission
  • Stay current on coding updates, industry trends, and regulatory changes
  • Contribute to audit readiness and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide support for billing, reimbursement, and internal training efforts as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in home health medical coding
  • In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
  • Familiarity with home health documentation standards and Medicare regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong data entry/analytical skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Certification preferred (AHIMA or AAPC – CCS, CPC, etc.)
