The Pollution Control Officer (PCO) is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations. The PCO develops, implements, and monitors pollution control and environmental management programs and serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies such as the DENR, EMB, LLDA, and local LGUs.

  • Ensures compliance with the Philippine Environmental Laws including RA 8749 (Clean Air Act), RA 9275 (Clean Water Act), RA 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous Waste Control Act), and RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act).
  • Prepares, files, and maintains required permits, such as the Permit to Operate (PTO), Discharge Permit, Hazardous Waste Generator ID, and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC).
  • Submits Self-Monitoring Reports (SMRs), Compliance Monitoring Reports (CMRs), and other required reports on time.
  • Conducts regular monitoring of air emissions, water discharges, and solid/hazardous waste management.
  • Inspects, maintains, and documents the status of pollution control facilities (e.g., STP, waste segregation systems, etc.).
  • Coordinates waste collection, transport, and disposal with DENR-accredited waste service providers
  • Develops and implements Environmental Management Programs and policies.
    • Leads in the conduct of environmental impact assessments and risk evaluations.
    • Coordinates with third-party consultants for required environmental testing or audits.
  • Organizes and conducts internal training on environmental practices, waste segregation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serves as the environmental resource person during inspections and evaluations.
  • Represents the company in dealings with DENR, EMB, LGUs, and other relevant government bodies.
  • Prepares documentation and assist during external audits or site inspections.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • Must be a registered PCO with the DENR–EMB (valid PCO accreditation). Work Experience
