Our client, is a Philippine-based lending company committed to responsible lending and ethical collection practices. They follow strict compliance with the latest laws and regulations set by the BSP, SEC, and the Data Privacy Act to protect their borrowers and their business integrity.
Job Summary
The Loan Collector is responsible for contacting borrowers through approved in-house and field channels to secure timely loan repayments. This includes calling clients, visiting residences or workplaces, and, where applicable, delivering demand letters. All actions must follow strict legal standards, company-approved scripts, and proper documentation protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Perform collection calls and field visits to delinquent borrowers within legally allowed hours (6:00 AM–10:00 PM only).
Follow a pre-approved script and adhere to collection guidelines defined by the company and government agencies.
Conduct respectful, non-threatening, and non-harassing communication.
Deliver demand letters when necessary, following assigned procedures and documentation.
Submit accurate, real-time reports of collection efforts and borrower responses.
Maintain borrower confidentiality and safeguard personal information in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Escalate accounts needing legal intervention or further handling to supervisors or legal counsel.
Avoid any behavior that may be interpreted as harassment, misrepresentation, or public disclosure of debts.
Coordinate with legal department on special cases, as assigned.
Legal Compliance
Collectors are expected to strictly follow:
SEC Memorandum Circular No. 18 (Series of 2019) – Prohibiting threats, public shaming, and third-party disclosures.
BSP Circular No – Detailing ethical collection standards for supervised institutions.
Data Privacy Act of 2012 – Ensuring borrower information is handled securely and lawfully.
Violations of these will result in disciplinary action and potential legal consequences.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in loan collection, credit investigation, or related field.
Familiarity with collection laws and best practices in the Philippines.
Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills.
Comfortable working on-site and conducting fieldwork.
Must be detail-oriented and disciplined in reporting.
Preferably has own motorcycle or means of transport (for field visits).
High level of integrity and respect for borrower rights.
