About the role
We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at the Noble Hotel in Banilad Cebu City, Cebu. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel's kitchen, ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and contribute to the continued success of our renowned hospitality establishment.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Executive Chef in leading and managing the kitchen staff, including coordinating schedules, delegating tasks, and providing mentorship and training
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of all menu items, ensuring consistently high-quality dishes that meet our exacting standards
- Collaborating with the culinary team to develop and refine innovative menu offerings, incorporating the latest trends and local ingredients
- Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, as well as inventory management and cost control measures
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among the kitchen crew
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-volume, full-service hotel or restaurant environment
- Formal culinary training or a recognised degree in Culinary Arts or a related field
- Exceptional culinary skills, with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques, flavour profiles, and food presentation
- Excellent time management, organisation, and problem-solving abilities to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Proven track record of effectively managing and mentoring a diverse culinary team
- Passion for using locally-sourced and sustainable ingredients to create delectable dishes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the hotel management, staff, and guests
