Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced In-House Senior Legal Counsel specializing in contracts and Statement of Work (SOW) management to join our legal team. This role requires a technologically savvy lawyer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in contract law, particularly in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating large-scale contracts and SOWs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the legal and business implications of contracts, demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, and have the ability to advise and interact effectively with clients. While the position is remote, the lawyer may occasionally be required to attend meetings in person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and SOWs, ensuring they meet the company's requirements and comply with all legal regulations and standards.
  • Manage and oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including initiation, negotiation, renewal, and termination processes.
  • Provide expert legal advice to internal teams and clients on contract matters, risk assessment, and the legal implications of various business strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales, procurement, and project management teams to ensure contracts are aligned with business objectives and projects are delivered as agreed.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its contracts, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and compliant with current laws.
  • Utilize technology effectively for contract management, maintaining an organized and accessible digital repository of all contracts and legal documents.
  • Develop and implement best practices and procedures for contract management and compliance.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel as required and represent the company in any contract-related negotiations or disputes.
  • Participate in meetings, both virtual and in-person, to provide legal insights and support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on contract law, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and SOWs.
  • Experience working with and advising on contracts in the technology sector is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using legal technology and contract management software.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
