About the role

As the General Accountant at Holiday Plaza Hotel, you will be responsible for overseeing the full scope of the company's financial accounting and reporting. This full-time role is based in Cebu City, Cebu and is crucial in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the hotel. You will play a key part in supporting the organisation's strategic objectives through the provision of accurate and timely financial information.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing and analysing monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  2. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  3. Reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving any discrepancies
  4. Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
  5. Assisting with the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  6. Providing financial reporting and analysis to support business decision-making
  7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify efficiencies and improve financial controls
  8. Supervising and developing a team of accounting professionals

What we're looking for

  1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar general accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  3. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
  5. Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  7. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable
