Job Summary:

The Senior Hardware Specialist for e-Mobility Ecosystem is vital in overseeing and contributing to the design, production, and testing of our cutting-edge battery-swap electric motorcycle. The ideal candidate will bring in their expertise in hardware design to access sustainable transportation, ensuring our products not only meet but exceed performance, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, mechanical, electrical, and software) to develop and refine hardware systems integral to the battery-swap mechanism.

  • Contribute to the conceptualization and detailed design of battery integration, power electronics, and mechanical components.

• Production Oversight:

  • Provide technical guidance during the manufacturing process, ensuring hardware components meet design specifications and quality standards.

  • Evaluate and select hardware components and suppliers based on performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.

  • Work with the Aftersales operations team to identify locally-available components and non-warranty parts

  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for hardware assembly and integration.
    
     

• Testing & Validation:

  • Design and implement comprehensive testing protocols to assess hardware performance, durability, and safety.

  • Analyze test data and collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Ensure all hardware systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in battery systems, electric vehicles, and hardware design.

  • Recommend design enhancements and process improvements to boost performance, reduce costs, and accelerate production timelines.

• Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and production teams, to ensure seamless integration of hardware systems.
• Maintain detailed documentation of designs, test procedures, and production guidelines for future reference and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Education - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering or a related field
• Experience
  • Proven experience in hardware design and development, ideally within the electric vehicle, battery technology, or similar industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing production processes and hardware testing.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of battery management systems, power electronics, and component integration.

  • Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools for hardware design.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes, testing protocols, and regulatory standards in electric mobility.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience specifically with battery systems or motorcycle projects.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and project management methodologies.

• Prior experience working with external suppliers and managing vendor relationships.

• Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is an advantage for effective communication with international partners and suppliers.
