Our client is a U.S.-based venture capital fund seeking a seasoned Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee fund operations. The CFO will guide financial strategy, reporting, investor relations, and compliance while working in a flexible, part-time capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead fund financial strategy, forecasting, and capital management.
• Oversee fund accounting, capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
• Manage audits, tax filings, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and fund regulations.
• Supervise financial reporting, including quarterly LP reports and portfolio valuations.
• Support fundraising with models, pitch materials, and due diligence.
• Build systems and controls for scalable financial operations.
• Partner with auditors, administrators, and legal counsel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in venture capital, private equity, or fund administration.
• Prior CFO, Controller, or equivalent finance leadership role.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred.
• Expertise in fund accounting, LP/GP structures, carried interest, and waterfalls.
• Strong modeling, forecasting, and investor-facing communication skills.
• Available 10–20 hours/month (scalable).
