About the Role As a Web Designer at our Website/SEO company, you will be the creative lead in transforming client briefs into visually engaging website experiences. Working closely with the Web Development Manager and the Website Division, you'll design initial homepage concepts, extend designs across entire websites, and contribute to the creation of internal landing pages, promotional assets, and experimental projects.

Unlike larger agencies, you'll play an end-to-end role – from interpreting client goals and brand identity to producing polished, ready-to-develop layouts. Collaboration is central: you will liaise with the SEO Division to ensure your designs support visibility and user journey best practices, and work with Sales to refine pitches and mockups that secure client approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and interpret creative briefs from the Web Development Manager and turn them into homepage concepts, full-site designs, and supporting assets.
  • Design user-friendly and conversion-driven websites that balance creativity, branding, and SEO principles.
  • Produce internal design projects such as marketing landing pages, campaign visuals, and company-owned websites.
  • Maintain consistency in typography, colour, and style across projects while adapting to unique client requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure your designs are practical, scalable, and ready for smooth handover.
  • Continuously gather inspiration, explore trends, and introduce fresh ideas to improve design quality.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7 years experience as a Web Designer.
  • A detail-oriented designer who thrives in a small, collaborative environment.
  • Understands Conversion Rate Optimisation and has Marketing Conversion Psychology knowledge.
  • Confident in interpreting briefs and translating them into original visual solutions.
  • Practical in balancing creative vision with client budgets, timelines, and technical requirements.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing multiple design projects simultaneously.

SMART KPIs for Web Design Manager

1. Homepage Design Turnaround Time

KPI: Deliver homepage previews within 24 hours of receiving a complete brief, for at least 90% of projects.Summary: Ensures designs are produced quickly, maintaining momentum for both clients and the Website Division.

2. Design Approval Rate

KPI: Achieve at least an 80% first-round approval rate from clients (minimal revisions required).Summary: Tracks how well initial designs align with client expectations and briefs, reducing wasted time and improving efficiency.

3. Collaboration & Handover Quality

KPI: Provide complete, properly organised design files (Figma/PSD, style guides, assets) for 100% of projects handed to developers.Summary: Prevents delays by ensuring developers can work directly with clean, ready-to-use files.
