I. JOB SUMMARY

The Encoder is responsible for accurately encoding and updating patient information, consultation data, and claim details related to the PhilHealth YAKAP/Konsulta Program. The position ensures timely submission of claims and compliance with PhilHealth policies and documentation requirements.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Encode patient information, consultation details, and diagnosis data into the PhilHealth YAKAP/Konsulta online system.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of supporting documents such as medical certificates, consultation forms, and prescriptions.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and billing staff to ensure correct and updated data entries.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and hard copies of submitted and pending claims.
  • Assist in the preparation, uploading, and tracking of claims submissions through the PhilHealth system.
  • Monitor claim status and report any issues or discrepancies to the PhilHealth Coordinator.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with Data Privacy Act and hospital policies.
  • Provide clerical support to the PhilHealth office, including filing, scanning, and document routing.
  • Attend trainings and orientations related to PhilHealth YAKAP/Konsulta updates and guidelines.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • At least college level or graduate of any medical or business-related course.
  • Preferably a nursing undergraduate or allied health course.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information with integrity.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office-based within the hospital or clinic PhilHealth section.
  • Regular working hours; may extend during claim submission deadlines.
