Our Australian client is a well-established market leader that specializes in high quality laser cutting and fabrication, servicing small and large customers in the Manufacturing and Construction industries, Australia-wide. Our warehouse and office are located in Melbourne, Victoria with 50 + employees and 2 Company Directors on-site. We house 5 laser cutting machines, 2 press brake folding machine and 1 welding and fabrication department. We have company trucks on the road delivering to customers daily. As an established family business of 30+ years, we pride ourselves on strong leadership, internal training provided to all staff, and a positive team culture, alongside our commitment to exceptional customer service and high-quality output.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimise our end-to-end supply chain operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of materials and products.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Forecast demand and plan supply to balance cost, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to secure optimal pricing, quality, and terms.
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels while minimising carrying costs.
  • Ensure production has the required materials, in the right quantity, at the right time.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight negotiation and compliance.
  • Monitor and reduce supply chain costs while improving efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, finance, and customer service teams to align operations.
  • Report on supply chain KPIs such as OTIF (On Time In Full), inventory turnover, and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Identify and manage supply chain risks, developing contingency plans as required.

Key Skills & Qualifications

· Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement (manufacturing industry preferred).

· Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, FileMaker or NetSuite).

· Knowledge of inventory management and logistics best practices.

· Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred).
