Lexagle is a Singapore headquartered legal tech startup which is looking to hire a Junior Software Engineer based in its office in Makati, Philippines. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience building web apps, is highly passionate about user experience, quick to adapt to changes, and keeps up to date on web technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Build customer-facing apps for the Lexagle platform
  • Translate mockups and prototypes into working code
  • Work closely with UX designer to continuously improve user experience
  • Build clean, maintainable, flexible APIs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 1-2 years of experience in front-end languages, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 1-2 years of experience with one or more JVM languages, e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala
  • Good working knowledge of RDBMS, e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
  • Takes the initiative to learn and build expertise

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern JS libraries / frameworks, e.g., React, Angular, Vue
  • Familiarity with JVM libraries / framework, e.g., Spring, Hibernate, JPA
  • Experience with NoSQL databases
  • Experience with REST / GraphQL
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design
  • Experience building cross-platform apps
  • Experience with event-driven and messaging systems
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
