The Area Team Leader oversees day-to-day branch operations within an assigned area. The role ensures smooth parcel flow, compliance with company standards, achievement of KPIs, and proper coordination between sprinters, branch staff, riders, and management. The Area Team Leader supports branch performance through supervision, coaching, monitoring, and reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Supervision
  • Monitor daily branch operations to ensure efficient parcel processing (inbound, outbound, delivery, and pick-up).
  • Ensure branches comply with J&T Express operational SOPs and quality standards.
  • Check inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment needed for daily operations.
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Track and evaluate branch KPIs such as on-time delivery, pick-up rates, RTS, and parcel discrepancies.
  • Identify problem areas and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and process compliance.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise branch personnel, including Sprinters and Operations Staff.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Assist in manpower planning and endorse staffing needs.
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution
  • Handle escalations and resolve customer concerns related to deliveries, delays, or parcel issues.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Dispatch, and other departments for quick resolution.
  • Coordination & Reporting
  • Coordinate with Management, Dispatching, and Line Haul Teams for operational alignment.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly operational reports.
  • Recommend process improvements for better performance and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure branches follow safety protocols and work area cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct spot checks on cash handling procedures (COD remittances).
  • Report incidents, damaged parcels, or operational issues promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 1–2 years experience in logistics, courier operations, or supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle fieldwork and multi-branch management.
  • Proficient in MS Office and operations monitoring tools.
