Job Description: Auto Mechanic / Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, including engine tune-ups, fluid changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and other truck systems.
  • Replace defective parts such as drivetrains, clutches, hydraulics, and electrical wiring.
  • Use diagnostic tools to accurately identify and resolve malfunctions.
  • Service specialized components like air brakes, diesel engines, and power steering.
  • Perform welding or fabrication for structural repairs as needed.
  • Test trucks after repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and parts inventory.
  • Advise clients on necessary repairs and preventive maintenance.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy-duty truck components.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic and repair tools specific to trucks.
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems and technical manuals.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in demanding environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to quality and safety.

Education & Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive or truck mechanics.
  • NC II or NC III certification in Automotive Servicing (TESDA) for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Additional certifications in diesel engine servicing, hydraulics, or air brakes are a plus.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience with light to heavy-duty trucks.
  • Fleet maintenance or trucking/transportation industry experience is a plus.
