Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians in performing repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues on heavy trucks and trailers.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, and overhauls on diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, and suspensions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely maintenance scheduling.
  • Recommend parts and supplies needed for repairs and liaise with suppliers.
  • Train and mentor junior mechanics, ensuring quality and consistency in all repair work.
  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance procedures and checklists.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance before vehicles are released back into service.
  • Report directly to the Fleet Manager with updates on fleet status and mechanical issues.

Requirements:
  • Diploma or technical certification in Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy truck maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Familiarity with fleet maintenance software and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
