Cost Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze manufacturing, production, and operational costs to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and present detailed cost reports to management, including standard costs, actual costs, and variances.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory and cost accounting.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile physical counts with system records.
Ensure accurate valuation of inventory (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) and review slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
Work closely with procurement and operations teams to maintain accurate cost data.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Compare actual costs against budgeted/forecasted costs and analyze discrepancies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline cost accounting processes and improve financial controls.
Support the implementation of ERP or cost accounting system enhancements.
Compliance & Auditing:
Ensure compliance with GAAP (or relevant accounting standards) and company policies.
Assist with internal and external audits related to cost accounting and inventory.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with production, supply chain, and finance teams to gather cost-related data.
Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies and operational decisions.
