Summary

The Cloud Computing Engineer I is a technical role responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments. This role handles more complex incidents, contributes to system improvements, and collaborates with engineering and architecture teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support cloud infrastructure services including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mid- to advanced-level cloud incidents, escalating to senior engineers or architecture teams when required.
  • Implement system changes, updates, patches, and maintenance tasks according to established change-management processes.
  • Assist with automation initiatives using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Monitor resource utilization and performance to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support identity, access, and security functions including MFA, IAM policies, and role-based access controls.
  • Participate in cloud migration projects, infrastructure upgrades, and platform enhancements.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and propose long-term corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Networking, Security, Engineering, Support) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2–3+ years of experience in cloud administration, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or private cloud environments).
  • Strong understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting mid- to advanced-level cloud or infrastructure incidents.
  • Familiarity with automation or scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Knowledge of IAM, MFA, and role-based access control security practices.
  • Experience with implementing system updates, patches, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize system performance and resource utilization.
  • Understanding of change-management processes and incident escalation.
  • Strong documentation skills (SOPs, technical documentation, KB articles).
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Networking, Security, and Engineering.
  • Willing to work permanent night shift and in a long-term work-from-home setup.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
