Powers Engineering & Inspection, Inc. is expanding their Philippines support team and looking for a detail-driven Engineering Support – Technical Report Writer who takes pride in accuracy, clarity, and engineering excellence. In this role, you'll work closely with U.S. inspectors and engineers to transform inspection data, calculations, photos, and drawings into professional API-compliant reports used by major industrial clients.

Work Schedule

• Full-time: Monday to Friday
• U.S. hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PST
• Work setup: Remote / Work From Home

• Collaborate with inspectors and engineers to prepare comprehensive API 653, API 510, API 570, and STI SP001 inspection reports for tanks, piping, and pressure vessels.
• Draft inspection reports using field notes, inspection forms, photographs, and collected measurement data.
• Populate and maintain standardized report templates.
• Perform engineering calculations in Excel based on field data, including venting, seismic, stress, corrosion rates, settlement, and survey-related calculations.
• Generate accurate 2D CAD drawings from field measurements and inspection sketches.
• Organize, process, and insert supporting materials such as photographs, drawings, and data tables, identifying significant conditions or issues observed in the field.
• Review and complete inspection checklists in accordance with applicable codes and internal standards.
• Apply relevant API, ASME, and other industry codes and standards to interpret inspection findings and support engineering evaluations.
• Review reports for accuracy, clarity, grammar, formatting consistency, and proper labeling of components (e.g., shell courses, floor plates, annular rings).
• Coordinate with field inspectors and engineers to clarify missing, inconsistent, or unclear information prior to final submittal.
• Support the quality control process by preparing draft reports for senior engineer review and incorporating revisions as required.
• Maintain organized data entry and document management to ensure efficient, accurate, and traceable report production.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Inspection and Engineering teams.

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering or a related scientific or technical field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand language
• Has background in designing (eg. 3D designs)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with minimal errors
• Experience in technical report writing, with a portfolio of past projects (prefer candidates who share or bring sample documents during interview)
• Proficient in using relevant software tools for data analysis, document formatting and presentation. Microsoft Office (excel, word) and AutoCAD are the key software to have high level of proficiency in.
• Prefer certifications in ASNT NDE, API 653, API 570, API 510, STI SP001, NACE, AWS, or other relevant inspection and engineering certifications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
