Job Summary

Mechanical technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting engineering teams in implementing technical solutions. The technician must adhere to safety standards, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to the efficiency and smooth operation of machinery in industrial, manufacturing, or facility environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions.

  • Install, align, and calibrate new mechanical equipment and components.

  • Conduct performance tests and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Maintain service logs, repair reports, and technical documentation accurately.

  • Assist engineers and senior technicians in developing and implementing process improvements.

  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Comply with company policies and safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.

  • Provide technical support to colleagues and operators when needed..


Qualifications

  • Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and industrial machinery.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Skilled in the use of mechanical tools, diagnostic devices, and repair techniques.

  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication abilities.

  • Physically fit with the ability to handle tools, equipment, and machinery.

  • Willingness to work in shifts, on-call schedules, or extended hours as required.

  • Additional technical certifications (welding, machining, HVAC, hydraulics) are an advantage.
