The Role

We're seeking a Data Scientist / AI Engineer to lead experimentation and performance optimisation of our LLM-based agents. You'll help define the infrastructure and methodologies around agent evaluation, fine-tuning, and ongoing learning, with a focus on quality, speed, and alignment with marketing use cases.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of marketing AI with a high degree of ownership in a lean, high-impact team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments to evaluate and improve the performance and quality of AI agents using Google Cloud's Vertex AI Experiments and Agent Engine.
  • Define and build scalable LLM Ops workflows for training, fine-tuning, and continuous learning of LLMs.
  • Design, collect, clean and adapt raw data for models' training and evaluation purposes.
  • Analyse and visualise structured/unstructured usage data to uncover performance bottlenecks, quality gaps, and behavioural insights.
  • Optimise prompt strategies and response selection pipelines for multi-agent coordination, content scoring, and summarisation.
  • Apply NLP, retrieval augmentation, and supervised learning to fine-tune content optimisation agents.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to rapidly test, deploy, and iterate on improvements.
  • Champion best practices for performance evaluation, data governance, and ethical AI use in content automation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in applied Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills; experience working with GCP (especially Vertex AI, BigQuery).
  • Experience fine-tuning or evaluating LLMs and/or deploying multi-agent architectures.
  • Solid understanding of NLP, generative AI, and machine learning evaluation metrics.
  • Ability to define testable hypotheses, design experiments, and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Comfort working in lean, asynchronous, remote-first teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with agent frameworks (e.g., Google Agent Development Kit, LangChain, LanGraph).
  • Familiarity with evaluating marketing or content-related AI outputs (readability, tone, brand match).
  • Exposure to reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) or preference modelling.
  • Understanding of product metrics, user segmentation, and behavioural analysis.
