Job Summary:The Quantity Surveyor /Construction Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects, ensuring that all financial aspects are considered and accounted for. This role involves collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive cost estimates that reflect the project scope and specifications. Key responsibilities include analyzing blueprints and project plans, preparing detailed quantity take-offs, and utilizing advanced estimating software to generate cost estimates.

The Senior Estimator will also assess risks, prepare bid proposals, and present findings to stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction estimating, a deep understanding of construction processes and materials, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and assess potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and support their professional development.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate estimates and findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on shipyard facilities, building construction, structural, civil flatworks, pile driving substructure and superstructure, mechanical piping and machinery, basic electrical, commercial.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
