The Uber ANZ paralegal is an integral member of our legal team, providing essential support to our in-house attorneys and contributing to the efficient functioning of the Uber ANZ legal department. The role entails a wide range of responsibilities, including legal research, document management, contract administration, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will be working towards a LLB or JD qualification, and will possess a strong grasp of legal concepts, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a corporate environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research to assist in-house attorneys in analyzing legal issues relevant to the company's operations. Summarise findings and preparing reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Document Management: Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and other corporate documents. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with vendors, customers, and business partners. Monitor contract milestones and renewals, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Compliance Oversight: Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining corporate records, preparing resolutions, and assisting with board meetings.
  • Litigation Support: Assist in preparing documents and materials for litigation, regulatory matters, and dispute resolution. Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Administrative Assistance: Handle general administrative tasks to support the legal team's operations.
  • Vendor and Relationship Management: Liaise with external service providers, law firms, and consultants. Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across departments

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of work paralegal experience from AU company, supporting litigation and claims managements/responses
  • Familiar with legal software or tools (e.g., LEAP, Clio, NetDocuments)
  • Willing to work on day shift and hybrid set-up (3d a week onsite in Taguig)
