Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior management to develop and refine the bank's AI strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize AI use cases that have the potential to deliver significant business value.
  • Develop business cases for AI projects, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and ROI estimation
  • Delivering, building and maintaining the Data Driven solutions that are core to Group Operations strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership in data science techniques and business applications to unlock the value of SCB's data sets and external information.
  • Continually look at the environment to challenge our assumptions around new sources of data, potential analytics partners, tools, talent and infrastructure.
  • Engage with internal clients to improve delivery of analytic projects.
  • Explore leading methodologies and best practices and importing successful methodologies from international markets.

Our Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of domain experience including Machine Learning
  • Building and deploying machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crimes, achieving a measurable reduction in fraud losses for Standard Chartered.
  • Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Mentor a team to deliver production-ready ML pipelines, integrating real-time transaction monitoring for compliance.
  • Optimize feature engineering and model tuning to increase detection rates of suspicious activities
  • Drive the adoption of advanced ML algorithms to identify sanctions evasion patterns, cutting investigation times for compliance teams.
  • Expertise in model optimization and hyperparameter tuning to achieve high precision
