This role will be reporting to the Head of AI Solutions and sitting within the CDO office of the bank. It is critical in driving AI adoption and enablement across the bank functions. The aim of this role is to lead the data science and machine learning team.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with senior management to develop and refine the bank's AI strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that have the potential to deliver significant business value.
- Develop business cases for AI projects, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and ROI estimation
- Delivering, building and maintaining the Data Driven solutions that are core to Group Operations strategy.
- Provide thought leadership in data science techniques and business applications to unlock the value of SCB's data sets and external information.
- Continually look at the environment to challenge our assumptions around new sources of data, potential analytics partners, tools, talent and infrastructure.
- Engage with internal clients to improve delivery of analytic projects.
- Explore leading methodologies and best practices and importing successful methodologies from international markets.
Our Ideal Candidate
Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of domain experience including Machine Learning
- Building and deploying machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crimes, achieving a measurable reduction in fraud losses for Standard Chartered.
- Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Mentor a team to deliver production-ready ML pipelines, integrating real-time transaction monitoring for compliance.
- Optimize feature engineering and model tuning to increase detection rates of suspicious activities
- Drive the adoption of advanced ML algorithms to identify sanctions evasion patterns, cutting investigation times for compliance teams.
- Expertise in model optimization and hyperparameter tuning to achieve high precision
