Head of Data Science

The Data Science Head is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of data science initiatives within China Bank Corporation. The individual in this role will lead a team of data scientists and work closely with various stakeholders to deliver innovative data-driven solutions and insights that enhance business performance and drive competitive advantage.

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy aligned with the overall business objectives of China Bank Corporation. Identify and prioritize key areas where data science can drive business growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
2. Build business case and value propositions on how each data science initiative can be monetized to support business growth of the Bank.
3. Data Analysis and Modeling: Lead the development and implementation of advanced data analytics models and algorithms to extract insights, predict trends, and optimize business processes, from ideation or proof of value creation to delivery. Utilize statistical techniques, machine learning, and predictive modeling to solve complex business problems.
4. Data Governance and Management: Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to ensure effective data management, data acquisition, and data integration. Establish data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. Ensure compliance with regulatory policies.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business units, IT, and other relevant departments, to understand their data science needs and develop customized solutions. Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
6. Project Management: Manage end-to-end data science projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and evaluation. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the defined objectives. Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to key stakeholders.
7. Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Continuously evaluate and recommend innovative tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of data science initiatives.
8. Talent Development and Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the data science team. Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in data science.

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
2. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI). Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
4. Project management experience including planning, initiation, resource allocation, risk & issue management, and stakeholder management are required.
