AUDIT SPECIALIST – JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

The Audit Specialist is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the company. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, and provides recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and safeguard assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits on financial, operational, and compliance processes to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, reports, and documentation to verify correctness and compliance.
  • Identify risks, control weaknesses, and areas for process improvement.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with different departments to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the development and updating of audit policies, procedures, and checklists.
  • Support external auditors by providing necessary documents and explanations.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and best practices affecting the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CIA, or related certification is an advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with audit software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Work Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional field or branch visits.
  • May require extended hours to meet deadlines.
