Job Summary

The Audit Specialist is responsible for performing internal audit activities to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role involves assessing financial records, operational processes, and internal controls to identify risks, recommend improvements, and help safeguard company assets.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Audit Planning & Execution

  2. Assist in developing the annual audit plan and audit programs.

  3. Conduct audits of financial, operational, and compliance areas in line with audit plans.

  4. Perform risk assessments to identify potential weaknesses in internal controls.

  5. Audit Review & Analysis

  6. Examine records, reports, operating practices, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.

  7. Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control systems.

  8. Identify areas of potential cost savings, fraud risks, and process improvements.

  9. Reporting & Documentation

  10. Prepare detailed audit working papers to support findings.

  11. Draft audit reports with observations, findings, and recommendations.

  12. Present audit results to management and follow up on corrective action plans.

  13. Compliance & Risk Management

  14. Ensure company practices are in line with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

  15. Monitor compliance with financial, operational, and quality standards.

  16. Assist in fraud detection and investigation when necessary.

  17. Collaboration & Support

  18. Work closely with process owners, department heads, and management to address audit issues.

  19. Provide guidance and training to staff on internal controls and compliance.
  20. Support external auditors during statutory audits.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Internal Audit, or related field.
  • Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years audit experience (internal or external audit).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and risk management practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office and audit management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail.
