Key responsibilities

  • Create and revise drawings: Prepare detailed design, shop, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance: Make sure drawings are accurate and meet all project specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with professionals: Work with project engineers, designers, surveyors, and other team members to ensure correct and clear drawings.
  • Update and maintain records: Update existing drawings with as-built data and manage the archiving and organization of old files.
  • Resolve discrepancies: Identify and resolve any conflicts or missing information in the plans.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Technical skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D), knowledge of related software (e.g., Sketch Up, STAAD), and skills in areas like civil, mechanical, or structural detailing.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field is often required, but vocational courses may also be acceptable.
  • Experience: Typically requires at least two years of experience as a CAD operator or detailer.
  • Soft skills: Good oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
