Job Description

We are looking for a skilled AutoCAD / 3D Designer to join our metal fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and fabrication layouts based on client specifications and engineering requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of metal fabrication processes, and the ability to work closely with production, engineering, and QC teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for metal parts, assemblies, jigs, and machinery components.
  • Create detailed fabrication drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Interpret and analyze client sketches, samples, and engineering instructions.
  • Revise drawings based on client feedback or production adjustments.
  • Ensure all designs follow industry standards, company guidelines, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with production team to ensure drawings are feasible and accurate for machining and fabrication.
  • Maintain organized files and drawing documentation.
  • Assist in improving design efficiency and fabrication accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • At least 1–2 years experience in AutoCAD drafting or 3D design—preferably in metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or other 3D modeling software.
  • Knowledge in metal fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, machining, bending, and assembly.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T (advantage).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
