I. JOB OBJECTIVES/SUMMARY

A Mechanic is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with motor pool supervisor and site admins to discuss their concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on motor vehicles and replacing parts on motor vehicles to promote their functionality. Mechanic collaborates closely with Operations Team. He will be directly reporting to the SVP-OPM.

II. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanics are required to perform a range of duties and responsibilities that can differ from day to day depending on the jobs that they are assigned. This can include anything from routine maintenance work to specialized repairs. Other duties include:

  1. Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues

  2. Liaise with site admins and mechanical engineers to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems

  3. Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform PHCC of any issues

  4. Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested

  5. Keep an accurate log of all work performed

  6. Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times

  7. Adhere to company work safety policies

  8. Perform other duties assigned by the SVP for Operations and Project Management.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years' experience as a Auto Mechanic and/or Equipment Mechanic.
  • Must have high degree of knowledge in order to be a specialist in the automotive field.
  • Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience inspecting vehicles for faults and repairs
  • Practical knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prepare work estimates and quotes
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Completion of an apprenticeship is advantageous
