Job Overview:

As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will work under the supervision of senior engineers to assist in the design, analysis, and development of structural systems for various construction projects. You will be responsible for supporting project teams, conducting calculations, drafting designs, and ensuring the safety and stability of structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Assist senior engineers in the design of structural components such as beams, columns, foundations, and steel/steel-concrete connections.
  • Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis using software like AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar to assess structural behavior under loads and other environmental conditions.
  • Drafting & Documentation: Prepare and review detailed structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Ensure designs comply with local building codes and regulations.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site inspections and assist with the monitoring of construction progress, ensuring that structural work is carried out as per the design.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure structural integrity and project feasibility.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure that designs adhere to relevant industry codes and standards, including safety codes and environmental regulations.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing technical reports, project documentation, and progress reports for internal and client review.
  • Problem Solving: Identify potential design challenges and work with senior engineers to find innovative solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of structural principles and material behavior.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, etc.).
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
