We are a fast-growing law firm seeking a talented and detail-oriented Web Designer to create visually stunning, highly engaging, and lightning-fast websites for our brands. Our ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, understands how to build websites that convert, and has the technical expertise to ensure exceptional speed and performance.

Position Overview

The Web Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality websites with a critical focus on both visual design and speed optimization. You should be comfortable managing projects end-to-end—from wireframes and mockups in Figma to fully responsive, SEO-friendly, high-performing websites in WordPress (including Beaver Builder) or Webflow.

Your First Project

Your initial priority will be a full rebuild of our existing law firm website:

  • Create a new, lightweight, speed-optimized website (likely in Webflow, though WordPress with Beaver Builder may be used for certain projects).
  • Design a modern, professional, and visually engaging layout aligned with our brand identity.
  • Preserve all existing URLs and internal links to maintain SEO rankings.
  • Migrate only clean, optimized content (removing outdated theme bloat).
  • Implement improved UX and conversion-focused structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop visually engaging websites in WordPress (Beaver Builder) and Webflow that load in under 2 seconds on desktop and mobile.
  • Use Figma to create wireframes, layouts, and prototypes before development.
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Optimize images, code, hosting setup, and caching to achieve top performance scores in Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
  • Build all pages with SEO best practices (metadata, heading structure, schema markup).
  • Regularly update content, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain peak performance.
  • Stay updated on web design trends, UX best practices, and new WordPress/Webflow/Beaver Builder tools.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing websites with WordPress, Beaver Builder, and Webflow.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design-focused projects with measurable performance improvements.
  • Proficiency in Figma for wireframing and design mockups.
  • Expertise in speed optimization techniques (image compression, code minification, caching, CDN, lazy loading).
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, typography, color theory, and layout principles.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for custom styling and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and URL preservation during site rebuilds.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Full-time availability during PST business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing conversion-focused landing pages.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Hands-on experience with performance optimization tools (Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, WebPageTest).
  • Ability to create subtle animations and interactive elements.
