SAP Software License & Compliance Manager


Location:

Position Summary

We are looking for a
SAP Software License & Compliance Manager
to oversee the
full lifecycle of SAP licenses
across enterprise environments. This role ensures compliance with licensing agreements, optimizes license usage, supports audit readiness, and collaborates with IT security, legal, and procurement teams to drive cost efficiency and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and track
    SAP software licenses
    (procurement, renewals, upgrades, retirements).
  • Maintain a centralized
    inventory of SAP entitlements
    across global business units.
  • Ensure compliance with
    SAP licensing terms & conditions
    .
  • Conduct
    internal audits
    and prepare for
    external SAP license audits
    .
  • Partner with audit, legal, and IT security teams to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Monitor and manage
    SAP product versions
    across dev, QA, and production environments.
  • Coordinate with SAP Basis/infrastructure teams to ensure version compatibility.
  • Analyze
    license usage data
    to identify underutilized/redundant licenses.
  • Recommend
    reallocation and consolidation strategies
    to reduce costs.
  • Serve as the
    primary liaison with SAP representatives
    for licensing discussions.
  • Support
    contract negotiations and renewals
    with procurement and legal teams.
  • Develop and enforce
    internal policies
    for license usage and decommissioning.
  • Provide
    training and documentation
    on SAP licensing best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in
    SAP license management, software asset management, or SAP Basis administration
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    SAP licensing models
    (user-based, engine-based, indirect access).
  • Proficiency with
    SAP LAW, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP S/4HANA
    .
  • Familiarity with
    compliance frameworks
    (SOX, SOC1, ISO
  • Strong
    analytical and data interpretation
    skills.
  • Excellent
    stakeholder management and communication
    skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate
    (or equivalent certification).
