Senior BI Developer

The Senior BI Developer will design, develop, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that transform complex data into meaningful insights. This role partners closely with business stakeholders and the backend team to deliver reliable, high-performance analytics solutions that drive informed decision-making across the organization. The Senior BI Developer also plays a key role in mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices across the BI function.

**Key Responsibilities:

Power BI Development & Data Modeling**

  • Managing enterprise-grade dashboards and reports in Power BI
  • Develop and manage robust semantic data models (Star and Snowflake schemas)
  • Create advanced DAX measures, KPIs, and calculated columns
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and enforce data governance standards
  • Conduct performance tuning, validation, and quality assurance of BI solutions

SQL & Database Proficiency

  • Write complex, optimized SQL queries for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from multiple relational and non-relational databases
  • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance across reporting environments

Data Structure & Analysis

  • Identify and align data elements across diverse systems to create unified, trustworthy datasets for reporting and analysis
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on large, complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with data engineers, product managers, and executives to understand analytical needs and deliver tailored BI solutions
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define KPIs and analytical strategies that directly influence key business decision
  • Drive adoption of BI standards, version control, and governance to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence development
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, optimization)
  • Deep expertise in DAX and Power Query (M language) and working knowledge of Python
  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles and best practices
  • Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouses preferred (Azure, AWS)
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools is a plus
