We're looking for a Research and Development Manager for a fast-food franchisee in the Philippines.

A Research and Development (R&D) Manager in the food industry leads the development of new food products and the improvement of existing ones, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and market demands. They oversee the entire R&D process, from ideation to launch, and collaborate with various teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Leading the creation of new food products, including concept generation, formulation, and pilot plant testing.
  • Product Optimization: Improving existing recipes for taste, texture, nutrition, cost, and scalability.
  • Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring R&D teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with operations, quality assurance, marketing, and sales to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all products meet food safety regulations, quality standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Innovation: Staying up-to-date with the latest food science trends, ingredients, and technologies.
  • Project Management: Overseeing multiple R&D projects, managing timelines, and budgets.
  • Technical Expertise: Providing guidance on technical aspects of food production, including ingredient functionality and process optimization.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in R&D or product development within the food industry, including experience in leading projects and teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of food science principles and food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with food processing techniques, ingredient functionality, and product development methodologies.
  • Willing to be assigned in Ortigas, Pasig City.

Work Schedule:

  • Onsite reporting
  • Monday to Friday; 08:00 to 6:00
