Job Summary:

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities and materials comply with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements. This role involves planning and implementing quality control systems, conducting inspections and tests, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project quality plans and inspection test plans (ITPs) in accordance with company and client requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of materials, equipment, and construction works to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to quality procedures and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documentation such as inspection reports, material test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure calibration and proper use of testing and measuring equipment.
  • Conduct internal audits and participate in external quality audits.
  • Provide technical support and quality-related training to site personnel.
  • Verify that corrective actions are effectively implemented and prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors regarding quality inspections and approvals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in QA/QC within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015) and relevant codes/standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with quality documentation systems.
