DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with maintenance & production planners, production supervisor, spares warehouse and other relevant personnel before start of and at the end of repair, maintenance, projects and any other activities carried out by him or his team.
  • Ensures that the workmanship and quality of repair, maintenance or fabrications are in accordance with the required engineering standards, safety, food safety, pest control and hygienic design and qualifications.
  • Ensures the electrical engineering shop, worksites and other work areas under his responsibility are in line with sanitation & hygiene, safety & environment and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Tests newly installed, maintained, calibrated and/or repaired facilities, equipment and machineries including advising production, quality and other stakeholders prior to handover of equipment.
  • Analyses and plans approved job order request for manpower, parts and duration of repair and coordinates repair schedule with production.
  • Plans and requests spares parts, engineering supplies, tools and consumables as required for the implementation of his team's responsibilities and activities.
  • Enforces all personnel, safety and housekeeping policies, section rules and regulations and sees to it that implementations are done as specified.
  • Evaluates subordinates and engineering contractor's behavior and performances.
  • Evaluates satisfactory completion of projects assigned to him and reports to his superior his findings.
  • Ensure full & accurate data recording and entry into logbooks, record-keeping and any other files required by the department.
  • Actively participates in HACCP, IMS, TPM and SQMS reviews inside and outside his area of responsibility and immediately implements corrective and preventive measures recommended as a result of the review. Attend these meetings, discussions and audit reviews as needed.
  • Reviews his crews and contractor performances in view of their assigned task, attendance, punctuality, cooperativeness or if in violation of company policies and appraises the crew on their working attitude.
  • Enforces all relevant HR rules, regulations and policies and ensures that sanctions are implemented with due process, fairly and equally.
  • Practices engineering discipline Code of Ethics.
  • Responsible for other tasks assigned by his superior.
  • Participates in the selection of staff and ensures that the department is manned by qualified personnel.
  • Identifies training needs of his subordinates, formulates training plan, and monitors implementation of the training program.
  • Strictly implements company policies and rules and regulations.
  • Reviews job descriptions of subordinates annually.
  • Evaluates and appraises the individual performance of his subordinates and submit recommendations/actions to the Section Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering Graduate. Licensed is an advantage.
  • At least five (3) years of experience in an engineer or supervisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, electronics, and instrumentation concepts
  • With extensive work experience in planning maintenance operations
  • With good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good Organizational, Leadership, and Management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills
