Data Analyst / Data Scientist Overview

Deco Marché is a technology-driven product and logistics partner specializing in home décor and furniture. We are seeking a highly analytical Data Analyst / Data Scientist to support our Wholesale, Ecommerce, and Finance teams with insights that guide strategic decision-making and operational performance. This role focuses on analyzing sales, merchandising, and financial data, building scalable reporting tools, and delivering clear, actionable insights to stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Insights

• Analyze wholesale, ecommerce, and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Conduct deeper quantitative work such as forecasting, cohort analysis, and performance modeling.

• Evaluate product, category, and channel performance to support sales, merchandising, and ecommerce strategies.

Reporting and Tool Development

• Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards using Excel, SQL, and BI tools.

• Develop data models and metric definitions that improve reporting accuracy and consistency.

• Produce ad hoc analyses and recurring reports for leadership and cross-functional teams.

Data Management and Quality

• Clean, validate, and transform raw data from multiple systems to create reliable datasets.

• Ensure accuracy and consistency across all reporting sources.

• Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current reporting and recommend improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Finance to translate business needs into data solutions.

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and performance tracking.

• Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and tell the story behind the numbers.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data science, preferably in wholesale, ecommerce, or retail.

• Strong Excel skills including PivotTables, advanced formulas, and data modeling.

• Basic SQL skills.

• Experience with ERP, ecommerce, or financial reporting systems and familiarity with BI tools is a plus.

• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data.

• Knowledge of home décor, furniture, or consumer products is a plus.
