JOB PURPOSE

The General Accounting Officer leads the execution and delivery of general accounting, general ledger maintenance and period-end closing, revenue, inventory and cost accounting, fixed asset maintenance, CAPEX accounting, financial analysis, and control account reconciliation processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Accounting:

  • Maintain and update accurate inventory records.
  • Perform regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts to verify accuracy.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts with the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory costs, including variances, slow-moving items, and obsolescence, and prepare reports with recommendations.

General Accounting:

  • Assist in preparing full sets of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support external audits and tax filings.

Collaboration and Process Improvement:

  • Work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams to manage stock levels and ensure proper documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and improve inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Prepare and distribute reports on inventory levels, costs, and trends to management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as ERP systems, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with inventory management principles and procedures.
