About the role

As the Director of Data Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of cutting-edge data engineering solutions. Based in Metro Manila, this full-time position will see you spearhead the company's data-driven initiatives, ensuring the seamless integration and optimisation of complex data systems.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support the company's data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data challenges, driving the adoption of innovative technologies and best practices
  • Mentor and manage a team of talented data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Develop and implement data governance strategies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise data processing workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Leverage your technical expertise to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the executive leadership team

What we're looking for

  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in data engineering, with a strong 3 years background of leadership
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines, leveraging technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and cloud data platforms
  • Extensive experience in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
