Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense and compound medications for inpatient and outpatient services in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Identify, document, and report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) in line with established protocols.
  • Process emergency purchase orders, ensuring timely handling and accurate invoice reconciliation.
  • Manage petty cash funds responsibly, including voucher preparation and liquidation.
  • Prepare and process requisitions for specialized departments as required.
  • Generate and submit daily financial reports such as income statements, charge slips, cash slips, and credit memos.
  • Respond to pharmaceutical inquiries from wards, nursing stations, and healthcare professionals to support safe and effective medication use.
  • Provide patient counseling to promote proper medication use, adherence, and understanding of prescribed therapies.
  • Update and maintain records in the Electronic Drug Price Monitoring System (EDPMS) accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor and document storage temperatures in compliance with Department of Health (DOH) standards.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks, ensuring proper shelving, accurate stock levels, and accountability.
  • Oversee Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) medications to ensure adherence to regulatory and hospital guidelines.
  • Implement the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to maintain proper stock rotation and reduce medication wastage.
  • Record purchased medications accurately in the pharmacy invoice logbook.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Ensure accurate dispensing of medications — the right drug, for the right patient, in the correct dose, time, and route.
  • Compound intravenous admixtures, tablets, and other pharmaceutical preparations using precise measurements and proper labeling practices.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy interns, supporting their learning, skill development, and preparation for licensure.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Licensure: Licensed and Registered Pharmacist
  • Experience: Open to fresh graduates; relevant experience is an advantage
  • Availability: Must be available for immediate employment
