Financial Planning & Control Manager

Purpose:

Oversee the company's financial management and control functions, including controllership, management accounting, audit coordination, and financial planning. This role ensures fiscal integrity, compliance, and profitability through disciplined reporting, analysis, and strategic business support aligned with retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Governance
  • Supervise daily finance operations, including accounting, general ledger management, and period-end closings.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies.
  • Coordinate statutory, internal, and operational audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Oversee compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Controllership & Reporting
  • Manage the preparation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Analyze P&L results by brand, store, and business segment, providing insights on profitability and cost optimization.
  • Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial records.
  • Management Accounting & FP&A
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring processes.
  • Develop analytical tools to measure financial performance, operational efficiency, and business KPIs.
  • Provide financial models and decision support for strategic initiatives, pricing, and investment projects.
  • Audit, Compliance, and Internal Controls
  • Act as liaison with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements to strengthen compliance and efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor controls across O2C, P2P, and R2R cycles.
  • Business Partnership
  • Collaborate with operations, merchandising, supply chain, and senior management to align financial performance with business goals.
  • Communicate actionable financial insights and recommendations to drive operational decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics.
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in controllership, management accounting, and audit — preferably from retail, FMCG, or distribution industries.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, audit processes, and financial control frameworks.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with excellent business partnering ability.
