Main Function:
Strategically oversee the technical operations section ensuring alignment with organizational and unit objectives. Provide comprehensive guidance to the technical operations section in proactively managing incidents and problem tickets, obsolescence and vulnerabilities, implementing enhancements and permanent fixes, planning application and infrastructure patches, scheduling preventive maintenance, managing production releases and coordinating capacity management for seamless technical operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Excellent Service Management
- Strategically oversee and guide technical operations teams, ensuring alignment with organizational and unit objectives.
- Provide leadership in the comprehensive management of obsolescence, vulnerabilities, enhancements, and permanent fixes.
- Direct the formulation and execution of high-level application and infrastructure patch planning initiatives.
- Spearhead the scheduling and optimization of preventive maintenance activities across the technical landscape.
- Lead and coordinate the governance of production release management processes for efficient deployment.
- Drive capacity management strategies at a broader organizational level, ensuring scalability and resource optimization.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to articulate and execute strategic objectives within the technical operations support (Application Services) domain.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness within the technical teams.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs align with technical operations strategies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to technical operations leads, fostering professional development and team cohesion.
- Foster synergy with relevant teams to achieve the organizational success
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance technical operations.
- Ensure adherence to SLA (Service Level Agreement), and unit goals
- Oversee timely completion of continuous improvement plans.
- Perform quality checks on the deliverables produced by the team.
- Support Technical Operations Lead and Analyst to execute their functions effectively.
- Enforce compliance with security policies, BDO IT standards, and regulatory requirements.
Capability Building
- Continually build and share knowledge of BDO Applications, products, services and processes to aid better understanding and management of changes in the organization.
- Progressively build full expertise of supported business and/or technical domain.
- Understand technology trends and practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies, methodologies, and best practices
- Coach and train team members on best practices and performance improvements.
- Conduct regular and formal performance reviews for direct reports to guide and monitor them in accomplishing their Development Plan.
- Perform manpower management which includes capacity/availability management, employing people, people development, and utilization.
- Facilitate overall section discussion and individual meetings with team members.
- Report overall team status, issues, resource plan, etc.
Stakeholders Management
- Manage stakeholder's expectations by articulating clearly the team's constraints. Align outcome, requirements, and needs of individuals and groups with vested interest in achieving realistic business goals.
- Demonstrates flexibility in adapting content and style to different audiences. Translate overarching concepts into specific contextual details.
- Ability to design and manipulate existing tools/information to extract useful information for management reporting.
- Manage escalations and provide timely resolution.

Business, industrial engineering or Information Technology graduate with experience in business casing, business analysis and requirements definition and user test script development.

At least 15 years of demonstrated global industry/ banking experience

Experience in working on software application development and/or support, and maintenance of banking/financial systems.

At least 12 years' experience in managing people and leading teams that includes effective allocation of resources and service delivery is required.
- Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Makati
