PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The QA/QC Engineer ensures that all construction activities for the residential project comply with the approved quality standards, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. He/she is responsible for implementing and maintaining the project's Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program and conducting inspections, testing, and documentation throughout all phases of construction.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Quality Planning and Compliance

  2. Develop, implement, and maintain the QA/QC Plan specific to the residential project.

  3. Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to ensure alignment with quality requirements.

  4. Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., National Building Code of the Philippines), regulations, and industry best practices.

  5. Inspection and Testing

  6. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of civil, architectural, structural, and MEPF works.

  7. Coordinate with third-party testing agencies for material sampling and laboratory testing (e.g., concrete compressive strength, soil compaction, etc.).

  8. Monitor and verify the installation of finishes, waterproofing, tiling, cabinetry, paintworks, etc., to ensure quality standards are met.

  9. Documentation and Reporting

  10. Maintain records of inspections, material approvals, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).

  11. Prepare and submit regular QA/QC reports to the Project Manager.

  12. Ensure that punch lists and corrective actions are addressed and closed.

  13. Coordination and Communication

  14. Coordinate with site engineers and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.

  15. Attend QA/QC meetings and client inspections.

  16. Preventive and Corrective Measures

  17. Identify and document non-conformances and initiate corrective/preventive actions.

  18. Ensure timely closure of NCRs and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL CAPABILITY AND CAREER:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Architecture or related field.
  • At least 2–5 years of QA/QC experience in residential or vertical construction.
  • Licensed Engineer (PRC).
  • Familiar with QA/QC practices, testing standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and communication abilities.
