Job Summary

The Cloud Services Development Team Lead will be responsible for directing their assigned teams under guidance from Online Systems leadership and proactively build working relationships with local and Australian Online Systems leaders and wider stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned teams to ensure effective execution of work instructions and on time delivery, including the tracking of time.
  • Manage the quality of output through design, code and documentation reviews and feedback from others.
  • Conduct performance reviews and quarterly KPI discussions with the team.
  • Set team objectives and monitor progress towards achieving them.
  • Manage and extend the secure, stable codebase of client systems (portal, websites and customer insights)
  • Design, write and test code that integrates with the client systems
  • Manage and extend the RESTful API with clear-cut documentation
  • Leverage open-source tools, libraries and frameworks to create a low-cost solution
  • Build out completely testable subsystems that can be swapped out in-place.
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst to implement provided designs
  • Work in a small team made up of skilled specialists in an agile fashion, rapidly releasing and demonstrating capability to the broader business – sprint planning, daily scrums and retrospectives
  • Lead a small team, building strong skills and capability based on industry best-practice
  • Bug-fixing and system improvements
  • Investigate the latest versions of the tools being used and ensure that codebase remains current
  • Assist in various improvement projects assigned to the team, such as process redesign, system improvements and new technology adoption
  • Streamline work instructions to be accurate and clear.
  • Look for ways to automate common tasks and work with the broader Online Systems Sydney on tech strategy, tech implementation and developing best practice processes for SDLC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong focus on tracking and process improvement
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and managing competing demands
  • Skilled in prioritization, facilitation, and project management
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment and achieve results
  • Proficient in analyzing business data to drive improvement recommendations
  • Self-motivated with persistence in driving change within teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical decision-making ability
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills
  • Collaborative team player with strong relationships across business and tech teams
  • Eager to learn and stay updated on IT trends and innovations
  • Amenable to work on a day shift work schedule in Ortigas (Hybrid work setup)
