About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant with 1-3 years of Australian accounting experience. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced accountants and mentors while gaining exposure to diverse clients across various industries. You will play a key part in ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws, preparing financial statements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for someone eager to develop their technical expertise and leadership potential within a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for Australian entities (companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders).
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian tax laws and accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of BAS, GST, and other statutory filings.
• Reconcile accounts and perform general ledger maintenance.
• Collaborate with senior accountants and managers on various client engagements.
• Utilize Xero (and other accounting software, if applicable) to manage client accounts efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes and systems.
• Participate in training sessions and mentoring programs to further enhance technical and leadership skills.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold high standards of service and professionalism.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of Australian accounting experience, ideally within a public practice environment.
• Solid understanding of Australian tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Xero (highly preferred); familiarity with other accounting software is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow professionally, with leadership potential in mind.
