Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing the Client Group's Australian and overseas financial transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with multi-jurisdictional accounting standards and regulations.

This role ensures accurate and timely data entry and financial reporting in compliance with both Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), while supporting the broader strategic objectives of the organization.

The Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with other departments to streamline processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the Client whilst supporting the Head of Finance with the delivery of the Client's strategic goals and Departmental initiatives.

The responsibilities will also include reconciling account balances and bank statements٫ managing the accounts payable cycle, maintaining the general ledger٫ performing the weekly payroll cycle and performing month-end close procedures and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all the Client's accounting tasks.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

Financial Operations

Duty: Responsible for the day-to-day running of financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and payroll processing.

KPI: Delivery of accurate EOM in line with critical path timeframes

Financial Reporting

• Duty: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
• KPI: Delivery of accurate EOM in line with critical path timeframes

Compliance

• Duty: Ensure compliance with internal policies, as well as legislative requirements. Assist with external audits and implement corrective actions as needed. Submit tax reports including Bas, PAYG, GST, FBT, Payroll Tax and Sales Tax returns.
• KPI: Complete adherence to legislative requirements

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Duty: Support the budgeting process by providing financial analysis, forecasting future financial trends, and identifying variances.
• KPI: Delivery of accurate Budget & Reforecasts in line with critical path timeframes

Financial Analysis

• Duty: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
• KPI: Accuracy of Analysis, Timeliness of Reporting, Insights and Recommendations, Error Resolution Time, and Stakeholder Satisfaction

Qualifications and Skills:

• A tertiary degree in Accounting, Commerce or Economics, with a strong interest in pursuing postgraduate qualifications such as CA or CPA.
• 5+ years' experience in accounting, commercial or finance. Ideally, experience in the retail/ecom space.
• Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and basic bookkeeping principles
• Experience in the Australian fashion retail industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in XERO with experience in ERPs desirable
• Knowledge and understanding of various Xero Marketplace addons
• Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication and a confident, outgoing personality.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) & Reporting (VLOOKUP etc.)
• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
• Outstanding organizational and planning skills with ability to multitask effectively, manage timelines and meet deadlines.
• Has the ability to seek advice and accept feedback.
• Has an inquisitive mind, ability to solve problems and suggest appropriate solutions
• Sound business acumen, highly numerate, with excellent planning & analytical capabilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php70, Php100,000.00 per month
