JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Reporting & GL Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal control policies. This role operates within a shared services environment and supports multiple legal entities across hotel operations, property management, leasing, and restaurant businesses. The role focuses heavily on driving process integrity, enhancing internal controls, and maintaining audit readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Financial Close & Reporting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for multiple entities under the Hospitality Development Unit.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all GL entries in accordance with IFRS/Philippine GAAP.
  • Review consolidated HDU and individual entity financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and analyze trial balances, variance reports, and management commentary.

2. General Ledger Management

  • Maintain and monitor chart of accounts across entities and business segments (this includes adding of new GL accounts, deactivation, etc.)
  • Oversee journal entry processing, account reconciliations, and subledger integrations from the other teams (AP, AR, Tax, etc.).
  • Perform GL reviews, clean-up activities, and resolve discrepancies across business units.

3. Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor internal controls as per the Controls Group framework (including monthly balance sheet recon process)
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, EMO, FMO and other enabler teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Lead remediation of control deficiencies identified during internal/external audits.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as key liaison with business unit finance teams across hotel, property, leasing, and restaurant operations.
  • Partner with other teams especially with Operations teams for reporting and data integrity alignment.
  • Support onboarding of new business units into the shared services model.

5. Process Improvement & Systems

  • Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across financial reporting and GL functions.
  • Participate in ERP upgrades or implementations, ensuring strong GL controls and data mapping.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure ongoing training and knowledge transfer within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA is a must).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, GL management, or controllership roles.
  • Experience in a shared services environment, preferably within a hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NOAH, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft) and advanced Excel.
