Responsibilities:

Detailed knowledge of Database management processes and architecture

Database administration and support for Postgre SQL

A Minimum of 7+ years' experience as an PostGre DBA; 5+ experience with Postgre SQL

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in supporting & maintaining PostGre SQL

Thorough understanding of database performance analysis and tuning / capacity planning / query optimization

Extensive experience with building & supporting the latest versions of DB and Application migration

Experience in writing Shell Scripting, Linux, Unix, Windows

Experience in Performance monitoring & Automation tools

Qualifications:

Ø Proficiency in setting up PostgreSQL instances, configuring parameters, and managing clusters.Query tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and vacuum/analyze expertise.

Ø Managing roles, permissions, and security policies

Ø Hands-on experience with pg_dump, pg_basebackup, PITR, and recovery strategies.

Ø Query optimization, indexing, vacuum/analyze, and configuration tuning

Ø Setting up and managing streaming replication, failover, and clustering.

Ø Regular health checks, capacity planning, log analysis, and proactive issue resolution.

Ø Applying patches, version upgrades, and ensuring compatibility.

Ø Strong command over SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions.

Ø Ability to diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, and data consistency issues.

Ø Linux/Unix Administration Basics since PostgreSQL runs primarily on Linux, knowledge of system administration is essential

Ø Query tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and vacuum/analyze expertise.

Ø Experience with streaming replication, logical replication, and tools like Patroni or PgPool.

Ø Familiarity with AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.

Ø Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible for automation of DBA tasks.

Ø Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

Ø Designing schemas, normalization, partitioning, and handling large datasets.
