Responsibilities

  • Editing & Proofreading

  • Review and edit manuscripts to ensure clarity, consistency, grammar, and flow in American English.

  • Proofread both written and audio book content for accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain the author's voice while improving structure, tone, and readability.

  • Ghost Writing & Story Development

  • Collaborate closely with authors and editors to develop storylines, character dialogue, and detailed descriptions.

  • Write and expand manuscripts based on outlines, ideas, or partially written drafts.
  • Ensure all writing aligns with the intended audience and genre (children and young adults).

  • Illustration & Visual Support

  • Create original illustrations that enhance and complement the story's themes and tone.

  • Design engaging visuals suitable for book covers, chapter headings, and marketing materials.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure visual consistency and storytelling cohesion.

  • Quality Assurance & Coordination

  • Ensure that final materials meet publishing standards and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other creative team members in a remote setup.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms for content review, communication, and file management.

Qualifications
  • Based in the Philippines and able to work remotely full-time.
  • Must provide own reliable internet access and workspace.
  • Strong command of American English grammar, spelling, and cultural nuances.
  • Proven experience in editing, illustration, and writing, particularly for children's or young adult literature.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in editing, illustration, and writing is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate competence in at least two of the three core areas: editing, illustration, and writing.
  • Proficient in digital illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with audiobook proofreading is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using online collaboration tools.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and time management skills.
