Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) units, including split-type, window, central units, chillers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance: cleaning filters, checking refrigerants, inspecting belts, wiring.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC/R systems and recommend solutions.
  • Read and interpret system schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Coordinate with vendors, set up installation jobs, ensure compliance with manufacturer specs.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Technical/vocational certificate in HVAC/Refrigeration, or equivalent experience.
  • Several years (often 3-5) experience in HVAC installation and service.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical know-how, refrigerant handling knowledge.
  • Good physical stamina, ability to work at height, lift heavy components.
  • Valid driver's license and travel to job sites may be required.
